One of Yogyakarta’s biggest strengths as a travel destination: this city is genuinely welcoming to solo travelers. Transport is relatively easy, there’s plenty of budget lodging, and — most relevant here — there are plenty of open trips you can join without having to plan everything yourself.

Make sure the inclusions are clear. What’s actually covered in the price? Entry tickets, meals, fuel — all of it should be transparent.
Ask about the pickup point. Some operators only pick up from one location. If you’re staying far from there, the extra transport cost can eat into your savings.

- Private trip: Rent a car + driver → starting from IDR 400,000–600,000/day for the full vehicle
The gap isn’t huge. And with a private trip, you’re free to choose your own destinations and rest times, without following someone else’s pace. For couples wanting more intimacy and flexibility, a private trip is often worth the extra cost. If the occasion is special — say, a honeymoon in Yogyakarta — a private trip is usually the better fit.
