Culture & Heritage Trip Plan — Napak Tilas
Three days through Java's cultural heritage: the still-inhabited Sultan's Palace and the Taman Sari water castle in Yogyakarta's old city, the ninth-century Buddhist temple of Borobudur out in Magelang, and the Hindu temple of Prambanan in Sleman.
Three family-friendly days in Yogyakarta: Gembira Loka Zoo and the hands-on science of Taman Pintar in the old city, a Merapi jeep run and the Bhumi Merapi petting farm up in Kaliurang, and Prambanan's ninth-century Hindu temple out in Sleman.
Three days across three very different sides of Yogyakarta: Kotagede's silver quarter and the Taman Sari water castle in the old city, Ullen Sentalu Museum and the Obelix Hills clifftop in the northern uplands, then Goa Pindul's underground river cave and HeHa Ocean View along the southern Gunungkidul coast.
Three days through the quieter, greener side of Yogyakarta: Kotagede's old silver quarter in the city, then Ullen Sentalu Museum and the three-volcano panorama at Tumpeng Menoreh in the northern and western hills, closing with the Wukirsari batik village and the pine forest at Mangunan down in southern Bantul.
Add-on activities (Merapi Jeep, Pindul tubing, batik workshop, etc.)
Personal expenses & driver tip
Why this duration
Three days and two nights give you room to enjoy Yogyakarta without rushing: temples in the cool morning, sunset over the hills, and relaxed evenings at an angkringan food stall. This duration balances exploring and resting best, making it a favorite for families and couples alike. The themes below can be combined however you like.
Where we operate
We run tours across Yogyakarta and around — from Borobudur and Merapi to the Gunungkidul beaches.
From around IDR 1,850,000 per person, including two nights' stay, breakfast, transport, a driver-guide, and entry tickets for the main destinations — paid directly by your driver, so you never need cash at the gate. The per-person price drops as the group grows, since the car and driver cost is shared. Hotel choice also shifts it — confirm the exact figure over WhatsApp, free and with no obligation to book.
What's the difference between the 3D2N packages?
Same duration, different focus: Napak Tilas for culture & heritage, Kulawarga for families with kids, Segara for the coast & highlands, Ayem for those after a slow pace and rural quiet. If none fits exactly, spots from different packages can be mixed through the custom planner on this page.
Can we build a fully custom trip plan?
Yes, and it's the most common route. The packages above are a starting point, not a fixed menu. Through the custom planner on this page you pick the group size, the kind of experience, and the spots you want — we sequence the route so time isn't lost on the road, then send the price estimate.
Where's the pickup — YIA Airport, Tugu Station, or the hotel?
The pickup point follows how you arrive. YIA Airport in Kulon Progo sits about 45 kilometers from the city center, so we usually shape day one along the western route to avoid a wasted drive. Arriving by train, both Tugu Station and Lempuyangan Station are central and the most practical. The bus terminal or your hotel work as pickup points too.
What vehicle is used — Avanza, Innova, or HiAce?
It depends on the group. An Avanza for small groups up to four, an Innova for up to six with more legroom and luggage space, a HiAce for roughly ten to fourteen, and a bus for larger parties. All are air-conditioned, with fuel, parking, and a driver who doubles as your guide included. Over three days and two nights we factor luggage space in as well — so mention both headcount and rough suitcase count during the chat.
Which spots can we visit?
Three days is enough to reach four regencies: temples and Merapi's slopes in Sleman, hills and the southern coast in Bantul, white-sand beaches and caves in Gunungkidul, and the Menoreh Hills in Kulon Progo. The most requested spots include Prambanan, the Merapi Lava Tour, HeHa Ocean View, Goa Pindul, Timang Beach, and Mangunan Pine Forest.
Can we add Borobudur?
Borobudur is already on day two of the Napak Tilas package, so there is nothing to add. On the other packages, which head south or west, Borobudur can be slotted in but means dropping another stop — the temple sits in Magelang Regency, Central Java, and takes most of a day including travel. Tell us during the chat if Borobudur is your priority and we will rebuild the route around it.
Is this tour private?
Private. Only your group is in the car, never merged with strangers, and there's no shared departure schedule to chase. Start time, how long you linger at each spot, and the order of destinations all follow your pace.
Which area is the hotel in, and can we upgrade?
3-star with breakfast by default, though the final pick is matched to the package you take, what you need, and availability on your dates. The most common areas: around Malioboro if you want late-night food and shopping nearby, Prawirotaman for a quieter feel, or the Sleman side if your route leans toward Merapi and Prambanan. Upgrading to 4 or 5-star is fine — just mention it during the chat and the price adjusts.
We're from out of town — how should we get to Yogyakarta?
From Semarang, Solo, Malang, or Purwokerto, train and bus are still comfortable since the trip runs under eight hours. From Jakarta, Bandung, or Surabaya, an overnight train or a flight saves energy so day one isn't spent recovering. Tickets to Yogyakarta aren't included in the package, but we use your arrival time to sequence the route.
Does the price change during peak season?
It can shift during school holidays, year-end, and long national holidays, mostly because hotel rates rise. If your dates fall in those windows, we flag the difference upfront rather than after booking. Outside peak periods, the price we quote is the price you pay.
What if we only want 3 days 1 night?
That works. Some guests arrive in the morning on day one and leave late on day three, so a single night is enough. The route can still cover three full days, only the number of nights drops and the price follows. Share your arrival and departure times and we'll shape the plan around them.

Just want to ask around first? That's fine. Quick, friendly, no pushy sales.
